The Eames Lounge Chair (Vitra) is the highest-value chair we buy — from £1,600 per authenticated example. The Soft Pad is £300. ID Chairs and Meeting chairs in volume too. UK-wide collection. Single chairs welcome. BACS the same day for authenticated Eames Lounges.
Vitra chairs sit in a different commercial bracket to standard office chairs. The Eames Lounge alone retails new at £8,000+; the Soft Pad runs £2,500–£4,000 depending on configuration. The secondary market is design-aware, often interior-led, and willing to pay for authenticated pieces. Whether you're clearing a partner's office, a creative studio, or a designer-led commercial space, send us photos and we'll authenticate, quote, and book collection within the day.
Per chair, Grade A, on collection. Same UK-wide. Authenticated against Vitra-licensed marks before booking.
The Vitra-licensed Eames Lounge has a different commercial value to the dozens of replica versions on the UK market. Replicas trade for £400–£1,200; an authenticated Vitra trades for £4,000–£8,000+ refurbished. The difference matters — for both of us.
What we look for: Vitra plaque on the underside, manufacturer's plate, seven-ply shells (not five-ply, not laminated MDF), Vitra-stamped down feathers in the cushions, consistent veneer pattern (rosewood, walnut, cherry, or palisander). Soft Pads have a Vitra logo on the base spider and matched leather panels with the manufacturer's codes. ID Chair series have a Vitra plaque under the seat and authentic Antonio Citterio detailing on the joint moulds.
Send 4–6 photos covering the underside, the joint detailing, and any plaques you can see. We'll authenticate and firm up the quote within the hour.
The most common Vitra buyback we run is a partner's office: 1 Eames Lounge + 4 Soft Pad meeting chairs + 8 ID Chairs. Or a creative agency closing down: 3–4 Soft Pads in the boardroom + 25 ID Chairs across the floor + a handful of Aerons or Embodies in the staff area. We bundle Vitra with other premium brands in one quote, one pickup, one BACS.
We've also bought Vitra estates from departing tenants in Mayfair, Soho, Shoreditch, Manchester's Northern Quarter, and Bristol's Stokes Croft. Authenticated chairs collected, BACS paid, paperwork issued. No fuss.
Same prices nationwide. Below are the cities we run dedicated weekly routes through; we collect Eames Lounges as singles from anywhere on UK mainland.
Headline rates: Eames Lounge Chair (Vitra) from £1,600, Eames Soft Pad (EA 217 / 219) £300, Meeting chair from £175, ID Chair £40. We also buy AC4, AC5, Allstar, Pacific Chair, T-Chair, Worknest, Citizen and the rest of the Vitra task range at quoted rates.
From £1,600 per chair (with the matching Ottoman) for an authenticated Vitra-licensed example in good condition. The original Charles & Ray Eames lounge chair is the highest-value chair we buy — we authenticate every example before quoting and pay BACS the same day for verified pieces.
Look for the Vitra plaque on the underside, the manufacturer's plate, the seven-ply moulded plywood shells (replicas often use five-ply or laminated MDF), the Vitra-stamped down feathers in the cushions, and the consistent rosewood / walnut / cherry / palisander veneer pattern. Send us photos of the underside and we'll authenticate before booking collection — no point either of us moving a chair that turns out to be a replica.
Single chairs are absolutely fine — particularly for the Eames Lounge. Most of our Vitra buybacks are 1–4 chairs from a designer's office or a partner's suite. We'll come and collect a single Eames Lounge if it's authentic; the value justifies the trip.
The Eames Soft Pad (EA 217 mid-back, EA 219 high-back) is one of the most common designer chairs in UK boardrooms. We pay £300 per Grade A chair (intact leather, all five-star base spokes intact, smooth tilt). Mid-grade examples with cracked leather drop to roughly £180–£220.
Yes — they're lower per-chair value (£40 ID, £175+ Meeting) but they show up in volume in design-led offices. A 60-chair ID Chair clearance still nets a useful BACS, especially bundled with other chairs in the same pickup.
Yes — designer-led offices are usually mixed (Vitras + Herman Miller + Knoll + Aram-supplied pieces). Bundle them all into one quote, one pickup, one BACS. Common combination is Vitra meeting chairs + Herman Miller Aerons in the staff area.
Yes. Cracked leather, scuffed bases, faulty tilt — all reduce the price but rarely zero it. Eames Lounge with significant veneer damage drops materially because the wood shells are the value driver. Send photos and we'll come back honestly.
We've spent fifteen years buying chairs and clearing offices for FM teams who needed it gone yesterday. We've sanded the friction off this process.
