The original Mirra (2003–2013) — discontinued but still in plenty of UK offices. We pay £90.
The original Mirra (Mirra 1) was Herman Miller's mid-range task chair from 2003 until it was discontinued in 2013 to make way for the Mirra 2. Designed by Studio 7.5, it introduced the flexible polymer "Butterfly" back and AireWeave mesh that the Mirra 2 carried forward. They are still everywhere in UK offices that did major fit-outs between 2005 and 2012 — banks, professional services firms, government departments. Buyback is £90 per chair Grade A — lower than Mirra 2 (£200) because parts availability is more limited (Herman Miller stopped manufacturing Mirra 1 service parts a few years ago) and resale demand has thinned. But we still take them, typically refurbishing for budget-conscious UK home offices and start-ups who want a Herman Miller chair under £200.
Used Mirra 1 buyback is £90 per chair Grade A. Roughly half the rate of a Mirra 2, reflecting the parts-availability difference and the resale-market shift towards the newer model. Mid-grade Mirra 1s (working but visibly worn) settle around £55; broken examples are parts-grade at £25–£40 because the polymer back and tilt mechanism are the hardest parts to source on the open market.
Steady supply from late-2000s office refits — banks, law firms, government departments who fitted out 200+ chairs at a time. They refurb fine and the secondary market still wants them, just at a lower price point than the Mirra 2. We typically take Mirra 1s as part of larger jobs that also include Mirra 2s, Aerons, or Embodies.
Same headline price wherever you are. Below are the cities where we run dedicated weekly routes — pickup is faster, but we collect UK-wide.
We pay up to £90 per chair in Grade A condition (fully functional, no rips, clean). Mid-grade examples sit lower; final price is confirmed once we've seen photos. Send a few snaps and we'll come back same day.
Single chairs work — we run weekly van routes through every UK postcode area, so a one-chair pickup from a home office sits alongside the multi-floor clearances we do for office moves.
Headline price assumes the chair functions — gas lift holds height, tilt mechanism works, arms intact. Light cosmetic wear is fine. Anything broken drops the chair to a parts grade (around £40) but we still buy.
Single chairs typically pick up same week. Lots of 10+ usually within 5 working days. BACS settled within 3 working days of collection.
Yes — most of our quotes mix brands. Bundle Aerons with Leaps with Vitras, plus any meeting / lounge chairs you want to clear. One pickup, one BACS payment.
Most quotes are confirmed within an hour. Most collections happen the same week. The whole thing should feel easy — that's the point.
